TURKU – July 29, 2026 – Marine technology pioneer OliOil Oy Ltd and floating structures expert Floating Finland (Suomen Laiturikauppa Oy) have signed a strategic partnership agreement. The aim of the collaboration is to improve port safety and environmental protection not only in the Finnish archipelago but also in the companies’ rapidly growing international business operations.
The global growth of maritime traffic and tightening environmental regulations require an even faster response to emergencies in ports and coastal areas worldwide. The agreement combines Floating Finland’s international-grade floating infrastructure with OliOil’s AI-based Oil Spill First Aid Kit (OSFAK) into a seamless export product. With this new joint solution, both companies are aiming for significant international growth.
Thanks to the collaboration between the Turku-based companies, modern ports can in the future be equipped with integrated container systems capable of launching autonomous robotic vessels to contain oil spills in under 30 minutes. The solution is designed to scale to the needs of both the domestic archipelago and large international commercial ports.

The company also has several ongoing negotiations in the UAE region, which are awaiting the end of the war.
Floating Finland also sees autonomous safety technology as a significant competitive advantage that supports the company’s internationalization goals.

The joint venture will immediately begin mapping out integration possibilities. In the first phase, the concept will be applied to the companies’ ongoing and upcoming port projects, with the goal of effectively exporting Finnish cleantech and infrastructure expertise to international markets.
